The Monofones / Snakerattlers / Bones Shake / Thee Windom Earles

January 30, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - January 31, 2020 @ 12:00 am

Down in the belly of The Peer Hat where you find all genuine trash from Abattoir Blues, we’ve got a huge party lined up for you at the end of January, to beat those blues. Beat it with a stick. You’ve got to beat it with a stick.THE MONOFONES are a rumbling drum, a heavily distorted guitar which sounds like a dying tractor and a female voice by which you wouldn’t like to be told off. The trio produces loud and wild 60s garage trash which is served with a pinch of punk. MONOFONES live shows are a sweaty & entertaining low-fi inferno of a different kind.SNAKERATTLERS is a Dirty Water Records band, comprising of married couple Dan and Naomi. It’s a hellbound voyage of trash rock and roll, punk potency and fragments of the oldest, dustiest rockabilly. Those genres combine to make the band’s own frenzied and furious take on music, known as Rattlerock. The sound of Snakerattlers is acerbic, ruthless, erratic and uncompromising. The band hails from the deepest, darkest depths of ghost-ridden York, in the heart of North Yorkshire, England.BONES SHAKE is a Scuzzed Fuzzed Blues three piece formed in 2011 from Manchester. They play everything into the red; violent bottle neck blues riff, drums kicked, pounded and twatted and squeals of reverb drenched vocals all combine to help save your soul. Since they started, they’ve never taken a rest from playing around the UK either as Headliners or supporting bands (Black Lips, King Brothers, Walter Lure, Guitar Wolf,…). They have also been in demand in Europe where they have toured numerous times including a tour of prisons in France They have released 4 EPs and 2 LPs so far with a new LP, Sermons, out now.THEE WINDOM EARLES comprise trash garage-punk, greasy rockabilly and exotica surf in a hot dog water cocktail. Their debut album, ‘Mai Tai Pink Eye’ laid down in one hot day in July 2018, is a red-eyed testament to the redeeming power of three-chord psychosis and transistor fuzz set to a Benzedrine beat. Expect tales of messy sex, greasy food, shit jobs, girl trouble, boy trouble, single entendres, hair products and, above all, rock and roll salvation. THE RED STAINSWe couldn’t have pulled an amazing bill together without including Manchester’s hottest new post-punkers who smirch your head, your clothes and just about everything they touch.“The Manchester band most likely to inspire a whole generation of guitar-wielding girl groups. Feisty, fun and ferocious, all-female quartet The Red Stains have been kicking up a storm on Manchester’s DIY scene with their no-nonsense take on post-punk, glam, new wave and Riot grrrl. Their sound is ramshackle, meandering and determinedly lo-fi – but, proving that charm will always overcome technical prowess, it’s hard not to be seduced by their freewheeling, girl-gang energy.” (Manchester Evening News)https://www.facebook.com/events/517142899138901/
