Blanketman

Blanketman sweat and toil in a city called Manchester. They drink in pubs, eat supermarket meal deals and play musical instruments. Less than a year old, Blanketman have already begun to work their way into Manchester’s behemoth of a music scene, recently securing their second gig with Manchester Fall Veterans Brix & the Extricated. Since January 2018 Blanketman have played thirteen shows and counting in some of Manchester’s most famous venues and are winning over audiences with their unique brand of “restless-leg” post-punk, In one show, being joined on stage by The Fall legend Steve Hanley.

Drawing influences from a wide range of bands spanning the last 50 years, Blanketman have been compared in sound to bands such as Gang of Four, The Velvet Underground, Joy Division and The B-52’s. Our drummer Ellie has recently been described as a “Mad post-punk Reni” by No Fun Magazine and the band has been described by Louder Than War as “local favourites for the future”.

We’re really excited to have them topping off this huge line-up.

Chupa Cabra

One generation or another’s alienation, derangement and dirty washing, projected back at you through Chupa Cabra’s Nauseating, salivating, hypnotizing, no good sucker-punch-piss-yourself polystyrene agitator Blues.

THREADS
Taking their name from the 1984 apocalyptic docu-drama of the same name THREADS represent a new reverb drenched Manchester sound. Stretching the envelope of noise and melody with a diverse range of influences from Spacemen 3, kosmische musik, This Heat and Dick Dale to The B-52s, and Ingmar Bergman; THREADS are quickly intriguing audiences across the city. Their unique sound has earned them gigs supporting the likes of Madonnatron, Cocaine Piss and Liines. Using a range of DIY guitar pedals and 3 vocalists, THREADS are a sonically expansive highlight in the Manchester scene.

Recently recording their latest EP with Jonathan “Baz” Barrett sound engineer at Strawberry Studios who worked under Martin Hannet for years. Having worked with New Order, The Streets, Stone Roses, The Fall, Steve Albini and PJ Harvey now he can proudly add THREADS to that list!.

Manchester-based, six-piece experimental rock band who incorporate spoken word with elements of jazz, drone, sci-fi and industrial sounds. Imagine John Cooper Clarke and Tom Waits pissed at a Bury bus stop, arguing over which Nico album is best.
