Hello, Let’s Create Some Worlds 2

March 16, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 11:30 pm

£5.00
After the great success of our first Hello, Let’s Create Some Worlds we’re back with another edition. This time Erika Ehler will be taking care of the comedy section as we continue to weave worlds with words, stories, and music.
Erika’s razor-sharp, dark and visceral writing paired with precise delivery makes her one of the most exciting young comedians on the circuit. She has quickly become a much in demand writer and comedian working on numerous high profile shows.
The lineup is as follows:
1st section:
Loll Perkins – Loll Perkins has quickly become one of the Manchester spoken word scene’s rising stars. This Barber-cum-Poet is a cut above, and her stage presence much like her hair is glowing.
Tegan Marlow – Tegan Marlow is an observational/anecdotal stand up comedian from Hampshire, now living and performing in Manchester.
“Her performance skills are spot on” – Notts Comedy Review (was also NCR’s New Act of the Year 2021).
“Never fails to make the audience laugh then gasp with her observational style and life experience” – Rick Atwood, Ace Lips Comedy.
Semi finalist: Funny Women Awards 2021
Shortlisted for Breakthough Act in the Northwest Comedy Awards.
Ror Materials – Ror Materials fuses electronic synthy beats with a versatile flow and high energy performance. Most recently he supported Shotty Horroh at his ‘Scum of the Earth’ album launch.
2nd section:
Jenny Berry – Jenny’s truthful wit mirrors today’s society with a stab of observational humour. She began writing rhymes about the age of 14 and then people kept asking her to write and perform for them – so she did!
Jamie Scrutton’s whimsical anecdotes – Jamie Scrutton’s poetry is full of character and the personalities come alive with every word and subtle change of tone of voice. His animation and short films are equally expressive and have been shown nationwide.
His Summer 20221 release The Devil Makes Work for Idle Hands details many anecdotes throughout his creative journey and shines a light on his mental health. It is available here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Devil-Makes-Work…/dp/1782228551
Zzzz – Zzzz, the musical supplier, Garment supplier, 21 year old transcending to all humbled desires.
Michael Mannion – Michael Mannion
Southport comedian of the year 2021.
2018 Beat the Frog panel prize winner
‘beautifully crafted gags that have a habit of sneaking up on you’- Beyond The Joke.
3rd section:
Ushiku Crisafulli – Ushi will be sharing extracts from Unmasked ahead of his final preview on 13th April 2022 at The Peer Hat. Unmasked challenges language around autistic authenticity and autistic enjoyment through comedy, hip hop, theatrical monologues and visual art.
Khalid Winter – Khalid Winter is a comedian from Manchester. His comedy draws on his life experiences including growing up on a council estate as well as his later experiences studying and working as an archaeologist. His comedy contains thoughtful social commentary but always from a personal perspective.
Mango Thomas – “Born and raised in the dense, cultural mixing-pot of Manchester’s concrete jungle, Mango’s perceptive ears and adaptive creativity have enabled him to survive in one of the harshest of musical habitats, forging a unique ability to flexibly manoeuvre between styles and genres from around the world. Mango can often be heard reciting his robust mating call which the locals fondly refer to as ‘throat singing’ whilst prancing about in onesies and laying down fat bass lines to woo his admirers.”
~ David Attenborough.
