Marbl Moon, Mark Pilkington , Karl D’Silva, Akoustik Anarkhy
Hi everybody, Sky Mouth here with an astonishing selection of weirdos for you to get into. Remember, sacrificing time to this night, will not only up your garmanbozia levels to critical heights, but also provide support to me in my astral prison! C’mon guys, free me already!
MARBL MOON’s music is ethereal, emotional and astonishingly transportive: this gifted singer, songwriter and instrumentalist whisks you away to an ambient dreamworld with atmospheric and alternative pop that’s as enchanting as it is experimental.
Her debut EP “Glitter and Gold” was released on 10th May.
The result of a year’s hard work and dedication, Marblmoon’s debut EP is a startling exhibition of raw talent, artistic sensitivity and untempered creativity that introduces a visionary young artist to the world. Drawing influence from pioneering contemporary female artists First Aid Kit, Phoebe Bridgers and Florence & The Machine, Marblmoon has recorded a stunning EP that showcases a developed musical perspective far beyond her years, moving confidently between dream-pop, indie, folk and experimental sounds while staying true to her own personality and vision.
MARK PILKINGTON: composer and performer of electroacoustic music. His practice encapsulates both sound and image as a means to extend spatial imaginings between real and virtual space. The coupling of sound and image are applied to electroacoustic music, installation and screen-based works. Forging immaterial and creative labor through a network of interwoven and augmented territories, his work increasingly queries the way operations carry great critical and creative potential. Seeking new modes of critical engagement that incorporate multiple narratives through non-digital and digital aesthetic informs the direction of his pedagogy. His theoretical research focuses on the relationship between artistic genres and their respective aesthetic theories with reference to: electroacoustic music, sound synthesis, visual music, coding, philosophy, and film. His practice especially focuses on audio-visual composition using real and virtual entities as a means to explore time and space. His work have been performed, exhibited and screened at conferences and festivals throughout the UK and Europe. Collaborative interdisciplinary work is carried out with composers and visual artist/s.
KARL D’SILVA
Karl D’Silva is a polyglot, having performed across multiple projects and styles with raw determination. He’s perhaps most known for his incredible saxophone work where he uses circular breathing to rattle through drones and arpeggios, often performing alongside Rian Treanor’s (Death of Rave, Planet Mu) dexterous electronics. He’s got an incredible CV, as a current member of noise/power electronics group The Vanishing, and with past performances alongside Thurston Moore, Damo Suzuki, Okkyung Lee, Ex-Easter Island Head, Rhys Chatham and Stephen Mallinder of Cabaret Voltaire to name a few. He’s now turned his hand to solo pop music and early signs look like it’s going to be an incredible project. Indeed, his progression has seen some notable underground stompers, his track Gemini, standing out as the work of somebody on the cusp of wider recognition.
