Small Machine Festival

A quick November all dayer, featuring some high grade, post industrial, weirdo pop and electronic music, from the light to the dark and back home again.

DAME AREA 9 30pm

Dame Area (Barcelona/Italy) started in Barcelona by Silvia Konstance after a year living in Turkey and joined soon by Viktor L.Crux (alias Futuro de Hierro, ex Ordre Etern, ex Qa’a, collaborator of Nurse With Wound and Jochen Arbeit of Einstürzende Neubauten).
Having been playing together since only 2018, already some of the most adventurous DJs of the moment (Toulouse Low Trax, Vladimir Ivkovic/Salon Des Amateurs, Manfredas, Identified Patient, Rivet and others) have played their songs in their sets.

Influenced by Franco Battiato (hence the LP title), Silvia’s turkish experience and their background on Barcelona’s vibrant post-industrial scene as part of Màgia Roja collective, they do their own mix of synthetic minimalism and industrial tribalism.

They’ll tour UK for the second time in November, this time as a trio with Jesse Webb (Gnod, Anthroprophh) at drums and presenting their next 12″ that will be released in September on the Swedish label Kess Kill.

PARYAH 8 30pm

Paryah are a live production duo based in the northern capital of Manchester. Their production, is tlted towards sounds of melodic house and techno, incorporating influences from their musical backgrounds. Compared to the likes of Howling and BICEP, Paryah offer an engaging performance through use of synths, drum machines, guitar and vocals.

The Manchester electronic music scene is currently full with talented DJs, but it is rare to see this talent channeled into a live performance. Under their alias, Paryah are exploring different avenues of dance music.

THE PEOPLE ASSEMBLY 7 30pm

THE PEOPLE ASSEMBLY haven’t wasted a second, operating incessantly
gaining a reputation for fanatic, confrontational and sometimes
destructive live performances involving a constantly rotating cast,
along with a relentless output of material before unleashing
their cataclysmic EP “How To Bombproof Your Horse” before being
chosen by Prolapse to support them for their reunion show at
London’s Moth Club. funded by Earwig Records, they left for Seamus
Wong studios – returning with their debut album up their sleeves,
they debuted their new material to a full capacity venue after being
chosen for Leicester’s Handmade Festival – soon after, releasing the
first single “French” in mid 2019

BOBOTRONIC 6 30pm

From Buxton comes this puzzling guitar wizard/electro heroic assemblage. Excitingly perplexing.

CYNTHIA’S PERISCOPE 5 30pm

Manchester based experimental electro pop artist, Paul Morrice, continues to write some of the most blistering underground tunes of the moment. Make sure you don’t miss him this time.

ALFIE SKY 4 30pm

Fresh out of Manchester UK, ALFIE SKY started making sounds when he was barely in high school. Armed with synths, laptop and occasional instrumental collaborations with friends, he dispenses glitchy electronica, with dreamy off-the-cuff words.
