SUMMARY:SEIREN//WUPIE//THE ARCANE HOPE
DESCRIPTION:Fundamentally one  of the most gifted musicians to have played on Manchester’s music scene in the past ten years\, Helea Gimeno returned to her homeland of Mexico to form the critically lauded psych-shoegaze-art rock combo\, SEIREN in 2021. Mexico City loves SEIREN whose complex interweaving harmonics\, deep grooves and virtuoso guitar playing\, serve as the backdrop to a truly unique\, powerful and beautiful voice. We at The Peer Hat are so happy to welcome them back to Manchester (their bass player is a Salfordian\, no less\, but we can let them off). This gig receives our very fullest approval. \n  \nManchester based alt-rockers WUPIE\, is a group project formed and fronted by Ross Bagley. With influences ranging from jazz\, electronica\, and folk; wupies music is a dynamic mix of woozy guitars\, ambient soundscapes\, and loose-limbed rhythms – all tied together with humble songwriting and melodic sensibility at its core. Truly exciting and deeply skilled music. \n  \nTHE ARCANE HOPE is a vibrant and original music collective rooted in Lancaster\, UK\, born out of a shared passion for melody\, community and creative collaboration. What began in 2020 as an exploratory sound and music art project led by local singer-songwriters has blossomed into a dynamic ensemble drawing on the talents of over 30 musicians aged from 8 to 78 \n

SUMMARY:GOLD CUP\, GEORGE JR & THE 911s\, ALL GIRLS ARSON CLUB\, YE WOODBEAST
DESCRIPTION:🏆 GOLD CUP 🏆Coveted by the many. Owned by the precious few. \nGEORGE JR. & THE 9/11s are a garage-cowpunk conspiracy based out of the San Francisco Bay. The band’s name and album title is not so much a salute to the former commander in chief\, as it is a hint at just how seriously this San Franciscan quartet takes themselves. Much like everyone’s favorite Philly goofballs the Dead Milkmen\, George Jr. And The 9/11s tongue-in-cheek pisstakes and the clean-toned guitar strumming to mostly cow punk-sounding ditties makes their songs sturdier than steel beams. \nALL GIRLS ARSON CLUB Riotous\, two-piece garage rock band raised in Sheffield\, based in Manchester. The Simon and Garfunkel of pop punk making music for heavy petting. \nYE WOODBEAST Join us or die.

SUMMARY:DUSK BROTHERS & GUESTS
DESCRIPTION:THE DUSK BROTHERS’ (Gray and ‘E’ Moncrieff) sound draws heavily on their unconventional arsenal of self-built instruments. Guitars fashioned from old metal boxes\, “Frankenstein” foot drums created by ripping down 55 gallon oil drums and bolting them onto sawn-off bass drum shells and custom valve guitar amplifiers built from scratch in their own workshop provide a raw\, bluesy backdrop for growling vocal harmonies and blues harp. \n\nThese “cowboy-hatted shamans'” visceral live shows continue to astound audiences and accrue a dedicated fanbase at venues and festivals across the UK including the acclaimed Buckle & Boots Country Festival and coveted main stage appearances at Tenby Blues Festival and Carlisle Blues Rock Festival. \nDusk Brothers featured in award winning director Virginia Heath’s documentary ‘Cigar Box Blues – The Makers Of A Revolution’\, broadcast on BBC One and BBC Four. \nThe debut EP “Storms\, Rum\, Liars and Guns” was released in 2019. \nDuring the 2020 lockdown the brothers transformed the ramshackle garage they use as a rehearsal room into a pallet-wood-clad private rum bar and live-streaming and recording studio. They continue to stream “The Dusk Brothers Show LIVE” on Friday nights from their infamous Rum Shack. \nThe five track album “Roses In The Bonecart” went live in August 2024 with the release party held at the final date of their first headline tour at The Fleece in Bristol.

SUMMARY:SEGO & GUESTS
DESCRIPTION:Art-Punk by non-punk non-artists”—Utah bred and LA based\, Sego first caught the\nattention of LA tastemakers with their penchant for avant-garde grooves helming indie-pop\nhooks. Since its genesis\, Sego’s prolific output and experimental live shows have garnered all\nthe accolades modern indie bands dream of—critical praise from NPR\, European tours\,\nfestival spots\nat Bonnaroo and Austin City Limits\, and a national (Xfinity) commercial airing on\nthe Olympics and the Super Bowl.\nLiving and recording together out of their downtown LA warehouse\, Sego\n(Spencer\, Thomas\, Derv\, and Kathleen) has released 3 full length albums and a smattering of\nsingles/EPs/compilations with labels such as Kitsune\, Dine Alone\, Roll Call Records\, and more.\nThey continue to expand upon their pop sensibilities and thematic musings while boasting all\nthe resistance and intelligence that makes them the most compelling art-punks in the scene.\nPRAISE FOR SEGO\n“I need every last second..Los Angeles-based quartet Sego creates boisterous\, hook-driven indie rock\nreminiscent of Beck or Phoenix in the early 2000s.”\n– Bob Boilen\, NPR\n“[Sego’s] music is technical\, yet accessible…Very fashionable non-fashion.”\n– Corey Fox\, VELOUR LIVE\n“Riddled with musical quirks and kinks that call to mind Beck’s zanier tendencies. The bass provides a\npounding pattern akin to a heart on the verge of bursting\, which the song eventually does during its\nclimactic\, jarring\, but wholly enrapturing chorus…with an anthemic track of this magnitude\, festival bookers\nwould be smart to snatch them up for the summer season.”\n– Consequence Of Sound\n“One of the best rock choruses [“Neon Me Out”] of the year so far.” “One might call this a thinking man’s\nmoshpit album.”\n– PASTE MAGAZINE\n“Broken down to its constituent parts [Sego] delivers infectious moment after infectious moment.\nExperienced as a whole “Sego Sucks” has all the feeling of a quiet classic – the type of album that fans will\npoint to and say ‘yes\, that’s where it came together’”\n– POP BOLLOCKS\n“Beck on an espresso bender with an extra shot of stream-of-consciousness.\n– BuzzBandsLA\n“At first blush\, the 1997 country pop smash [“Where Have All The Cowboys Gone”] seems like an odd fit for\nthe off-kilter rockers of Sego. But the band quickly makes the song its own with funky-as-hell bass riff\,\nskittering guitars and winking vocal performances. Wellbaum\n[Slothrust] replicates the sweet tones of [Paula] Cole’s voice well\, playing off the more eccentric inclinations\nof Sego. On paper\, this cover seems to make no sense\, and yet\, when you hear it\, it all suddenly makes\nperfect sense.”\nLIVE HIGHLIGHTS:\nFestivals: Bonnaroo Festival\, Austin City Limits\, Treefort Fest\, SXSW\, etc\nTours/Support: Warpaint\, OkGo\, Vacationer\, Young The Giant\, Built To Spill\, etc\n– The 405
